The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is one of our favourite phones of the year and it just got a whole lot better thanks to the introduction of a Bespoke Edition. As the name suggests, it’s built to order based on your personal colour choices.
There’s already a variety of colourways for the foldable Z Flip 3, but the Bespoke Edition represents a total of 49 different combinations. In much the same way as Motorola’s old Moto Maker (RIP) worked, you can configure the device via the Bespoke Studio on the official store while ordering it.
There are five different colours to choose from for front and rear panels: Blue, Yellow, Pink, White, or Black. Meanwhile, the frame can be Black or Silver. Samsung doesn’t have all the combinations waiting in boxes, so these are made to order.
To choose the colours Samsung said it “researched current and future colour trends and analysed sociocultural trends to anticipate changes in customer’s preferences and needs.”
Bespoke Edition owners will also be offered Bespoke Upgrade Care which is exclusive to the phone. Samsung says this means you can change the colours whenever you want by registering for replacements on the official website.
Frames are not swappable but the panels can be replaced for different colours – there’s a service fee for doing so.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition is available now from Samsung, although it does cost a little more than the regular model at £1,049/US$1,099 compared to £999/US$1,049. It only comes in the larger 256GB storage capacity.
Customers can also use the Bespoke Studio to customise the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch, mixing and matching from a variety of chassis colours, sizes and straps. Samsung also announced updates for the wearable including customisable watch faces, more tailored fall detection and a new “knock, knock” wrist motion to launch favourite apps or another feature.
