IDG is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Clarke to the position of Editor for its new magazine, Australian GamePro.

Stuart is a well known identity within the games industry and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge about games publishing. Stuart has launched and edited a number of games and entertainment publications over the past decade and is very much in tune with what Australian gamers are looking for.

In recent years, Stuart assumed a publisher role at Next Media where he was responsible for all Next Media’s games publications. In addition, Stuart launched and edited the Australian edition of UK-based music magazine Ministry, appeared regularly on JJJ radio network for five years and was games editor for the Sydney Morning Herald’s Icon section from 1997-2001.

GamePro has also appointed Jason Hill, another well-known identity in the games scene, as contributing editor (based in Melbourne). Jason will write for the magazine on a regular basis with particular emphasis on the Melbourne games community.

Chris Stead has been appointed as Australian GamePro’s senior staff writer. Chris has written for many of the Australian games publications in recent years and was staff writer for the Official Playstation Magazines when they were published by ACP.

GamePro publisher Matt Rigney said: "These editorial appointments clearly reflect GamePro’s commitment to providing a strong level of local content for Australian gamers. We are very pleased to have Stuart heading up Australian GamePro magazine and with such a strong editorial team behind him, I have no doubt that GamePro will quickly rise to the top tier of games magazines within Australia.”

GamePro is published by IDG Communications and is a very strong international brand that is published in many countries around the world. The US version of GamePro is the largest independent multi-platform games magazine in the world.

The first issue of Australian GamePro will be on sale in November 2003.
