Mainframe software leader Syncsort appoints XSI to resell Backup Express

<p>Syncsort, a leading developer of high-performance software, today announced the appointment of XSI Data Solutions as their open systems partner for Australia.</p>
<p>The appointment reinforces Syncsorts strategic commitment to broadening its sales channel in Australia and developing the multi-platform, open systems enterprise-wide backup and restore market with particular emphasis on the NOVELL segment.</p>
<p>Syncsorts Backup Express product now supports Novell's NetWare 6.5. Backup Express and NetWare 6.5 allow you to quickly back up your information anytime and make file recovery for users and businesses a simple process.</p>
<p>Syncsorts Backup Express also supports Novell's Netware 6.5 including Clustering, GroupWise 6.x, eDirectory 8.7 and takes full advantage of Netware 6.5's SnapShot capabilities. Backup Express is fully cluster aware and provides uninterrupted support of backups of Novell. It is the only product that supports failover and full dynamic drive sharing of Netware machines.</p>
<p>XSI Data Solutions was founded 18 years ago and is the largest Australian-owned and managed data storage company. XSI specialises in disk, tape and network-based storage solutions and is an expert in both NAS (network attached storage) and SAN (storage area network) strategies.</p>
<p>The company has 45 software and hardware engineers who operate from branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Adelaide. XSI has more than 600 customer sites Australia-wide, including many of the Top 200 companies.</p>
