Integrated Research Opens U.S. East Coast Office

 • 27 October, 2004 10:51

Appoints Vice President of Channels, North America, to strengthen U.S. East Coast presence for government, finance and higher education customers.

Sydney – October 27, 2004: Australian systems performance management software developer Integrated Research (ASX:IRI), today announced that it will open a new office in the Washington DC area of North Virginia to better support customers in the Eastern time zone of the United States and to address growing opportunities in the IP telephony market.

In a related move, the company has appointed Mr. Nicolas Orolin as Vice President of Channels, North America. Mr. Orolin will be based in the North Virginia office that will open on November 2, 2004. The company’s U.S. headquarters, established in 1992, will continue to be based in Denver, Colorado.

“Over 60 percent of our customers are located in the Eastern U.S. time zone, so the new office will allow us to deliver faster support to that region. Virginia’s proximity to Washington DC will also allow us to effectively address the growing opportunities for IP telephony in the government, finance and higher education sectors, and it provides convenient access to the important mid-Atlantic market,” said Orolin.

According to IT research firm IDC, the IP telephony management market is growing at 80 percent annually and is predicted to reach US$258 million by 2008. Integrated Research’s own studies show that 60 percent of enterprise organizations in the U.S. have already deployed IP telephony.

Integrated Research’s products for the IP management market include PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager – for Cisco CallManager deployments of 1,000 handsets or more – and PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Express for smaller scale, distributed deployments.

“As large organizations increasingly adopt the use of video in their IP communications mix, the need to manage system performance and quality of service (QoS) is more critical than ever before,” said Kailem Anderson, Product Manager, IP Telephony products for Integrated Research.

“Video places an increased demand on the network and may degrade call quality or the performance of other applications and transactions, if the network is not monitored and managed. PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager has been specifically designed to support this type of critical environment,” he said.

About Nicolas Orolin

Nicolas Orolin joined Integrated Research in July 2004 as Vice President of Channels for North America. Mr. Orolin brings more than a decade of international hi-tech and software executive experience to the company.

Prior to joining Integrated Research, Mr. Orolin was the Vice President of North American Sales for iCode, Inc., a leading ERP provider to SMEs. He realigned the direct sales model by designing and implementing a channel infrastructure of more than 250 independent sales agents.

Mr. Orolin also served as Vice President of Business Development for Precise Software. At Precise he incubated the J2EE business unit, which became the leading performance management solution for applications running in Java and J2EE environments.

Prior to Precise, Mr. Orolin was the co-founder and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Strategy.com, an innovative Personalized Information Network. Through strategic alliances, he built the organization to over $20 million in revenues, 150 partners and over 200 employees in less than 24 months.

Mr Orolin conducted post-graduate research at Trinity College, Cambridge University and holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics and Management Studies from the University of Wales, and an M.Phil. in Management Studies from Jesus College, Oxford University.
