Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects

This book brings experienced graphic and video enthusiasts into the world of motion graphics quickly and effectively, providing a powerful tool when creating animations and titling for film and video.

But be warned, this title is not a Dummies Guide to After Effects, with hand holding kept to a minimum. Trish and Chris Meyer, industry stalwarts and AE gurus, assume a working knowledge of both video and graphics conventions when offering their words of wisdom throughout the book. Experienced Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator or even Flash users should be very comfortable with the pace and scope of the lessons and insights offered, providing real world examples of projects and issues resolved in producing compelling animated content.

Concepts such as keystoning, setting up compositions and working with different aspect ratios are covered in great depth, with heaps of colour screens to help illustrate a point.

Aside from talking about the creative aspects of After Effects, Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects also illustrates various production issues such as rendering and working at film resolution as well as covering DV and HDTV output.

The CD also includes a useful collection of movie, still and audio files, as well as a tryout version of Adobe After Effects 4.1 and plug-in filters from Alien Skin, ICE and Puffin Design. If you are serious about moving to the next level in video effects, you should have this title on your shortlist.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
