Network scanning solutions for small to medium businesses

<p>Ricoh expands its range of document management solutions for small to medium businesses with the launch of the Aficio IS200e network colour scanner. With its low hardware and operation costs, the new A4 flatbed scanner cost effectively adds multifunctional colour scanning and copying capabilities to desktop and workgroup colour laser printers.</p>
<p>Designed for general office and light production scanning, the Aficio IS200e scans high quality 200 dpi images at 17 pages per minute in full colour and 33 pages per minute in black and white. Featuring a built-in Automatic Reversing Document Feeder (ARDF), the IS200e scans single or double sided documents without compromising speed. It also has a maximum output resolution of the highest quality at 1,200 dpi.</p>
<p>Providing a full document management solution, the IS200 connects directly to a local Ricoh printer and is compatible with up to 99 networked Ricoh laser printers. This superior connectivity enables the scanner to facilitate electronic document capture, distribution and occasional copying needs. Document management is made easy with the optional keyboard attachment, allowing users to enter email addresses on the fly or add a subject line to emails.</p>
<p>Using scan-to-email, the IS200e automatically converts images to JPEG, TIFF or PDF formats for emailing. Files can be sent simultaneously to up to 100 pre-programmed email addresses. This reduces the costs associated with dial-up faxes and couriers. A total of 2000 addresses can be registered on the scanner.</p>
<p>The IS200e also offers an excellent digital archiving solution, sending scans directly to networked files such as LaserFiche, client folders or the server. Up to 1000 shared folder destinations can be stored on the IS200e.</p>
<p>When security is a priority, user authentication can limit access to the scanner’s functions by requiring entry of a valid user name and password.</p>
<p>Easy to use and manage, the IS200e links seamlessly with an existing network. Featuring built-in Web Status Monitor firmware, administrators can remotely manage the device from a standard web browser while SmartDeviceMonitor enables IT staff to manage entire fleets of Ricoh devices installed on the network.</p>
<p>Operating via network TWAIN, the IS200e is compatible with most graphics software packages. It can also connect to an FTP server for compatibility with mixed operating environments such as Linux, Unix and Mac.</p>
<p>The Aficio IS200e is available from May for $3,300 inc GST.</p>
