Samsung Revolutionises Rear Projection Television with the New L7

 • 20 October, 2004 09:48

TV fanatics will be able to enjoy the ultimate home cinema experience with the introduction of Samsung’s long awaited Digital Light Processing (DLP) rear projection television range into the Australian marketplace.

Samsung's DLP TV offering has already redefined the television market around the world and Samsung expects its flagship L7 (SP50L7HX) model to re-invigorate the rear-projection television category in Australia.

By using a unique vertical projection (or rocket) mechanism in the flagship L7 model, Samsung has been able to design a sleek, slimline product, which is a world away from the large, bulky rear projection TVs of the past. The feather touch control panel on the pedestal provides the user with maximum convenience coupled with a strikingly elegant design.

The full range of Samsung DLP rear projection TVs use a next generation DMD processor, giving them the best picture quality of any DLP rear-projection TV on the market. This combined with a 2500:1 contrast ratio and 1000 candela screen brightness (the equivalent brightness of 1000 candles burning), means that the L7 produces a stunning picture on screen, whatever the source – conventional broadcast, digital, DVD or PC.

John Fragiadakis, CTV product manager, Samsung said: “Based on our worldwide successes, we plan to continue to revolutionise the Australian market with the release of this new series. DLP technology has not been used to its full potential and we aim to change this, raising the bar in this category and making the L7 a highly aspirational product”.

The L7 comes complete with matching home theatre that includes tall boy speakers and DVD, making it the ultimate in designer home cinema.

All models feature Samsung’s latest Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe3), which includes 6x density enhancement and my colour control.

The new 50-inch DLP TV can also serve as a large PC monitor of W-XGA resolution (1280x720).

My Colour Control features user convenience in adjusting hue levels (pinks, blues and greens) to the tastes and/or users requirements.

Its 720-line Progressive Scan feature delivers high-quality image data processing. And as a perfect DVD display device with its Cinema Progressive Scan feature, it enables high quality reproduction of both broadcast images and DVD movies.

The 650W HTDS-1000 feature HDMI connectivity and Samsung’s Hypervision technology (upscales DVDs to 576p 720p and1080i), as well as Samsung’s SDsM Sound Calibration (for easy acoustic balancing) and an omni directional powered Subwoofer.
