NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR), a leading provider of easy to use, high-performance networking products, has released the WNR834B RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router and WN511B RangeMax NEXT Notebook Adapter, delivering unprecedented wireless speeds.

The WNR834B and WN511B comply with the draft 802.11n wireless standard and offer 15 times faster and 10 times more wireless coverage than standard 802.11g products. “Today’s networking environment is extremely taxing on bandwidth capabilities and consumers are demanding products with faster speeds to better meet their IT requirements,” said NETGEAR’s Asia-Pacific Vice President, Ian McLean.

“The process of ratifying a new wireless standard is long and complicated, and the new 802.11n standard is no exception. NETGEAR has launched the RangeMax NEXT line following demands from the marketplace for more responsive networking products.

“In addition to sheer bandwidth, it is especially critical for applications such as video streaming to have connections that are stable anywhere on the wireless network. NETGEAR’s RangeMax NEXT products deliver the ultra-fast wireless speeds required to simultaneously support multiple bandwidth-intensive applications, high-definition video streaming and other signal-quality-sensitive applications, while providing high-quality connectivity throughout the home or office,” explained McLean.

The WNR834B RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router maintains compatibility with 802.11b and 802.11g wireless products and incorporates an advanced internal antenna design for optimal performance. The RangeMax NEXT products are manufactured and tested with NETGEAR’s first in the industry ‘11n-True Test’ high-performance testing and tuning process. The ‘11n-True Test’ ensures maximum draft-11n performance at all times and at extended ranges and enables out-of-the box performance and reliability. In addition, NETGEAR’s ‘Steady-Stream’ technology ensures the RangeMax NEXT wireless products deliver the most stable connection possible of any wireless networking solution available.

The WNR834B RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router also:

· Facilitates backwards compatibility with 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi.
· Utilises advanced MIMO (Multi-In, Multi-Out) technology.
· Supports multiple simultaneous signal-quality-sensitive applications such as streaming high-definition videos throughout the entire home, making Internet telephone calls (VoIP), sharing files, downloading MP3s, and playing network games.
· Delivers stable, application-enhancing connections using Steady-Stream technology.
· Interoperates at up to 270 Mbps with other products powered with Intensi-fi™.
· Includes the following robust security features: NAT and SPI firewalls, 64 and 128-bit WEP encryption, WiFi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK), Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS), and Exposed Host (DMZ) for secure gaming.

The NETGEAR WNR834B RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router (RRP $299) and WN511B RangeMax NEXT Notebook Adapter (RRP $229) are now available from NETGEAR’s value-added resellers. Backed by 24x7 technical support, it comes with NETGEAR’s standard three-year warranty. Increased technical support is also available with NETGEAR's advanced warranty.

NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR) designs technologically advanced, branded networking products that address the specific needs of businesses and home users. Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, NETGEAR’s suite of approximately 100 products enables users to share Internet access, peripherals, files, digital multimedia content and applications among multiple personal computers and other Internet-enabled devices.
