HP and Westan join forces to support the unbranded (whitebox) market!

<p>Melbourne October 29th 2004 Westan today announced the signing of an exclusive partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP) Australia to develop the Australian Unbranded PC market. gThis agreement is the end result of 12 months of negotiations, which concluded with Westan being successful as HPfs partner of choiceh, said Philip Jackson Westanfs National Marketing Director.</p>
<p>Westanfs founder and Managing Director Victor Aghtan said, gWestan has a long and stable history in the whitebox/unbranded PC space and HPfs decision to choose Westan is a clear endorsement of our channel position and reach in the distribution spaceh. gWestan has arrived at a cross road in it's 15 year history and continues to restructure and reposition itself for the next growth phase. Corporatisation and a higher profile will be prerequisites and engaging Industry leading vendors such as HP forms part of our new strategyh.</p>
<p>Rosalie Boyd, New Channels Manager HP Australia said, gWestan is positioned well to grow the unbranded PC marketh; gwe are very pleased and comfortable with our decision to appoint Westan as our partner for unbranded productsh.</p>

This agreement clearly signifies that Westan has come of age and supports our decision last month to extend and relocate our production facility into our fully owned adjoining building in Mount Waverley Victoriah.</p>
<p>The unbranded PC market is a large segment in Australia. According to IDC close to 42% of all PCs being supplied are unbranded PCs. gPartnering with Westan, a national distributor with 15 years experience will enable HP to increase customer choice &amp; provide a solution to the unbranded Australian PC market, said hTony Bill, Vice President &amp; General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP South Pacific.</p>
<p>Westan will launch our HP Unbranded desktop systems together with a comprehensive customer care program in November.</p>
