Download Demon 3.0

Download Demon launches automatically when you start a download, displaying the name of the file you're downloading, the site from which it's coming, and the folder in which it's being saved. The program tells you how much of the file's been downloaded and the estimated time remaining until completion. It can be used at FTP and HTTP addresses, and it recognises 85 file formats.

The scheduling feature allows you to download files while you're away from your PC. The Download Demon can track multiple downloads simultaneously and, based on your preferences, can list all of them, the unfinished ones only, or only those still downloading. Files land in a default download folder, unless you specify another location. You're then given the option to install them immediately or to view them.

Perhaps the most useful feature is Download Demon's ability to pause and resume downloads - so you can make or receive a phone call, without having to start over. Just click the Resume button to pick up where you left off. Although Pause and Resume work only with servers that support the resume feature, we encountered no obstacles - most servers support it.

You can change the look of the Demon with skins, but the only way to eliminate the marching banner ads that run across the main interface is to hand over $US30.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

I’d happily recommend this touchscreen laptop and Windows 10 as a great way to get serious work done at a desk or on the road.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga 910

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
