CommBiz downtime hits morning peak hour trading

The Commonwealth Bank’s online business banking Web site went down at 9am this morning following a fault with one of the service's access points.
According to the Commonwealth Bank’s media advisor, Nichole Ismay, the CommBiz business banking site access point was not operating for a short period of time this morning. While the service access point was down until 11.30am, customers were able to access their accounts using the CommBank site.
“Customers were at all times still able to access the full CommBiz service through CommBank”, she said. “The site was back online at approximately 11.30am this morning.”
The CommBiz banking site is specifically designed for the company’s business customers and provides access to account transactions as well as the CommBiz Markets area which encompasses its Ecommcorporate and Business Foreign Exchange services.
Macquarie Bank also experienced downtime on its banking site this morning. According to a spokesperson the service disruption was caused by a connectivity issue to its back-end server.
She estimated the downtime was only 10 minutes and stated that it was only experienced on one level of the site and that most of the other areas of the site were unaffected.
