Mail lots of photos without annoying friends

PC World reader Arcticsid wants to mail lots of photos to friends, but he doesn't want to choke their inboxes with multiple megabytes. He asked the Answer Line forum for advice.
Both Windows XP and Vista can resize your photos when you mail them.
In Windows Explorer, select your photos, right-click one of the selected files, and select Send to, Mail Recipient. (In Vista you can also click the E-mail icon on the toolbar.) A dialog box will ask if you want to make the pictures smaller before you send them. If you choose to do so, Windows will create smaller versions of the photos and send them to your default email program.
Windows shrinks the photos by reducing their resolution. The resulting image will look fine onscreen, but won't print very well. When I send photos this way, I mention this issue in the body of my message, and offer to send the full-size version of any photo the recipient wants to print.
That's my suggestion. You'll find other options at the original forum discussion at http://forums.pcworld.com/message/216138.
