Kodak shows off its flexible OLED prototype underwater

Moisture-proof OLED prototype opens up a world of opportunities for underwater displays

Kodak has released images of a prototype flexible OLED screen that is able to work while submerged in water. OLED displays are generally highly sensitive to moisture.

The pictures are available on Kodak's PluggedIn blog. The images show the OLED sheet suspended in a beaker of water, with plastic toy characters watching the image of a fish displayed on the OLED screen.

No information is currently available on how the OLED screen was successfully modified to work underwater, but the innovation opens up a new range of possibilities for the low-cost display technology.
