15 amazing Lego videos

...On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.
Lego is one of the icons of modern civilisation. The colourful Danish-produced blocks have been voted the toy of the 20th century twice: by Fortune Magazine and the British Association of Toy Retailers. Although videos with a Lego theme are not a new concept, YouTube has made it possible for people to share their creations with the entire world. Here is a handful of our personal favourites; from Michael Jackson's Thriller to the construction of the Lego Death Star!
The Simpsons Intro
One of the most famous television show introductions in history — in Lego! Apparently made by a 13-year-old Estonian boy this video comes complete with a couch gag at the end. (We especially like Marge’s head swivel in the shopping isle: priceless.)
This is the Lego version of Michael Jackson’s 13-minute epic music video and it is just like the original. We can’t imagine how long this took to make, especially the dance sequences.
The Dark Knight trailer
A Lego Batmobile. Enough said.
USA vs England
It seems as though the whole world is in World Cup fever at the moment so why not watch some games in Lego? Robert Green’s shocking goalkeeping blunder is even funnier in Lego.
Super Mario Lego
A very polished Lego video where everything is made out of Lego including the props and background. Stop motion works extremely well with the Super Mario arcade game. Amazingly, this is just the first of many painfully recreated levels.
GTA: Lego City
A helluva lot more fun than Harry Potter Lego!
Domino-building Lego machine
Made from a Lego Technics set, it features not a Lego motor but an old tape deck motor! Next time you’re too lazy to lay down hundreds of domino pieces, just build one of these beauties. More info on how to build it here: www.woodgears.ca/domino.
Lego Fight Scene
Makes the ‘Crazy 88’ scene from Kill Bill look like a schoolyard scrap.
Lego Chain Saw Massacre
The title says it all really. Do not watch if you're sensitive to scenes of violence against multi-coloured blocks.
Fascinating video about how Lego is made. No, the machines on the assembly line are not made of Lego but it’s still pretty impressive. Much of the factory is automated and about 1.7 million bricks are made per hour. That equates to 15 billion per year. Lego is churned out 24 hours a day.
Ramones: Teenage Lobotomy
We’re pretty sure that YouTube’s copyright police have scrambled the sound on this video — but being the Ramones, it’s kinda hard to tell. [Take that back! — Ed.]
Legoland theme parks are located in Germany, the UK, USA and of course Denmark. Aimed at children aged 2-10? Pfft. The parks boast millions and millions of lego pieces and Lego-themed rides — count us in!
Star Wars Death Star
This time lapse video shows how tedious Lego building can be and also how Lego and Star Wars go hand in hand. The construction of the Death Star took 10 hours and was built over the course of three days to become a ‘fully armed and operational battle station.’
The Italian Job
One of our all-time favourite films, in Lego form. Bless.
Monty Python: Knights of the Round Table
A stop motion version of this classic scene from Monty Python.
