Sony's answer to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) has quietly arrived. The company announced its Xperia Z2 will go on sale with the big three Australian carriers.
Currently Optus is the only carrier stocking the smartphone on shelves at the time of writing. The carrier is offering the smartphone at $16 per month on its $60 plan for 24 months. Customers who buy the smartphone from Optus before the 31 July will get a free pair of adidas training shoes valued at $190.
Vodafone will shortly follow by selling the smartphone on the 7 May for $10 per month on its $65 plan over 24 months.
Telstra will sell the Z2 at an undisclosed later date and is currently taking preorders.
Sony unveiled the Xperia Z2 at the Mobile World Congress in late February. The 5.2in smartphone runs Android 4.4, features a 2.3GHz quad core CPU, is waterproof to 1.5m for 30 minutes and has a 20.7MP camera capable of recording UHD videos.
