Sony is pandering to lovers of selfie photography with its latest smartphone, the Xperia C3. The 5.5in Android smartphone is armed with a 5MP front facing camera complete with its own LED flash and a 25mm lens.
Photos can be enhanced with a range of shooting modes including 'timeshift-burst', augmented reality animations and Sony's superior auto mode, to name a few.
The rear camera is less impressive than those featured on the Xperia T2 Ultra, the Z1 Compact or Sony’s premium Xperia Z2. The C3 has an 8 megapixel rear camera equipped with Sony’s Exmor RS for mobile imaging sensor.
Sony’s C3 isn’t a small phone with its 5.5in high definition screen, but it is thin with a waist measuring 8mm.
Inside is a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash storage. A further 32GB of storage can be added using a microSD card.
Powering the C3 is a 2500 milliamp-hour battery. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G connectivity.
Sony has confirmed the Xperia C3 will be made available to Australian retailers and Sony retail stores, but pricing and the date of launch has yet to be disclosed.
