How to move Switch games to SD card

Downloading games is pretty much the norm these days, and although the Nintendo Switch takes cartridges it’s more convenient to have the game stored locally. The limited capacity of the console means you’ll probably want to move some games to the SD card. Here’s how to do it.
Getting games without having to wait for them to be delivered (or physically go to a shop) is great, but the 32GB that the Switch has will quickly get full. So getting a memory card to store games is almost essential.
The process of transferring a game to the SD card isn’t that simple, though. Luckily you’ll be fine if you follow our step-by-step guide.
Need a microSD card? Find one in our round-up.
Turn your Switch off.
Buy and insert a microSD card into your Switch console - the slot is behind the kickstand.
Turn on your Switch.
Open System Settings from your Switch's Home screen - the cog wheel.
Scroll down and choose Data Management.
Click on the game you want to transfer.
Select Archive Software.
Press Home button to go back to your Home screen.
Select the archived game from your Home screen.
Now the game will download to your microSD card. Just bear in mind that save data will still be stored on the console’s local storage.
