The Q702 is quick thanks to an Intel Core i5 processor and a fast drive, it boots in seconds, and multitasking was no problem.

Lift the Fujitsu 702 tablet out of the box, insert a SIM card, power up and you're ready for a day on the road. Light but robust, you can send an email, do your banking, then make a PowerPoint presentation.

The Q702 is quick thanks to an Intel Core i5 processor and a fast drive, it boots in seconds, and multitasking was no problem.

The screen is non-reflective and allows input via a large on-screen keyboard, touch, or by the stylus which is housed in a recess on the side. The pen allows sketches, drawings and notes to be made on the spot. All work effortlessly through the installed Windows 8 Pro operating system.

Back at the office, the tablet clicks positively into the keyboard dock, which has a separate battery, allowing up to 10 hours use (although I only managed eight hours during my evaluation). The dock is sturdy and allows positioning of the screen at the required angle. The keyboard is responsive, suffering little from its size limitations.

Like in tablet form, all the usual daily tasks are performed easily. I watched catch-up television, played video clips, and connected to social media. The Q702 has 2 cameras, which are useful for quick snaps but won't rival a digital SLR for quality, even at their highest resolution.

Connectivity covers every need: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, LAN, VGA, and HDMI. There is also an SD card slot for expansion.

Security is paramount with a mobile device, and the Q702 has BIOS password protection and a fingerprint sensor, as well as Intel's encryption features.

At 850g, the Fujitsu Q702 is portable, powerful and flexible, and ideal for the mobile professional. It performed every task I asked of it competently. It is quiet, but did become a little hot after some hours of use.

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

I’d happily recommend this touchscreen laptop and Windows 10 as a great way to get serious work done at a desk or on the road.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
