PMO Manager required for program of work in IT and Business Solutions
Based in Northside of Brisbane | Up to $1000/day inc super
Government role | 7 month opportunity with possibility of extension

A PMO Manager is required to provide specialist knowledge in the establishment of a Project and Program Management Office in the context of business solutions within IT. The ideal candidate will have experience in program and project management, have the ability to lead and manage a large scope of work, and have strong communication and liaison skills to work successfully across the business.

This is a contract opportunity running for 30 weeks, with ASAP start and possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities include:


    • Lead the Project and Program Management Office in functions including methods, tools, governance, reporting, resourcing and sourcing to help build a sustainable and capable variable workforce to effective work delivery.

    • Lead the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies and initiatives aligned with established strategic direction to help build a sustainable and capable workforce to enable effective delivery of ICT services.

    • Lead the development and implementation of the sourcing framework and initiatives aligned with established strategic direction.

    • The establishment and management of a project and program methodology incorporating structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting which is agile, fits the needs of the projects and puts emphasis on quality of decision making and timely project delivery, in the following fields:


      • Financial Management: Track and report on project performance, monitor project overhead and capital expenses to ensure cost efficiencies, assist with tracking actual spend and forecasting future costs, reporting cost variances and adjusting program forecasts based on change control.

      • Schedule Management: Identify project level milestones and integrating them into an overall delivery plan.

      • Governance: Provide decision support for project sponsors, decision makers, and stakeholders involved in the program and organisation. Documenting governance decisions and tracking action items for future sessions to support effective decision making.

      • Performance Management: Integrate project level status reporting and generates executive status reviews. The PMO investigates specific performance issues and communicates early warning signs of troubled projects through consistent performance reporting guidelines.

      • Risk, Issue and Scope Management: Aggregated management of risks, issues and scope need to be managed and supported through the PMO. The PMO manages the specific reviews and documents key decisions.

      • Resource Management: Establishment of a resource management model which tracks utilisation to assist better resource decision making in accordance with risk and priorities.

      • Quality Management: Provide expertise in quality control, quality assurance, coordinating quality inspections, and process coaching.

      • Supplier Management: Monitor various suppliers providing services to the organisation and managing supplier performance issues.
