A brilliant opportunity to manage multiple projects within a large complex ICT program

Melbourne

This position will be responsible for the day to day delivery of projects. The position includes oversight of project managers, informing scheduling, dependency management, risk management, reporting, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Programme and Project Delivery: Lead a team of project managers to deliver the agreed outcomes of the program. Work in conjunction with the project managers to ensure that accountabilities and responsibilities are understood.
  • Programme and Project Management Standards: inform the creation and lead the use of the complex programme and project management office (PPMO), in line with enterprise and industry standards.
  • Program and Project documentation: Create relevant program documentation and oversee the development of project documentation, in line with enterprise and industry standards.
  • Governance and Reporting: inform the implementation of a governance framework, and support the Senior Responsible Officer to contribute to relevant governance bodies, ensuring that specific domain knowledge is accurate and verified.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Liaise with stakeholders and contribute to the formation and use of agreed communication plans.
  • Risk Management: Lead the process for actively managing and reporting on programme and project risks.
  • Pipeline and Change Management: Lead the use of agreed protocols for program changes such as scope, timeframes and deliverables. Adhere to the protocols for ICT changes.
  • Dependency Management: Identify, record and report program and relevant enterprise dependencies.
  • Resource Management: Advise on the acquisition, retention and allocation of project managers. Manage the performance the project managers.
  • Reviews: Contribute to and support external and internal reviews of the program and its projects. Contribute to and act on lessons learned.
  • Financial Management: Support the financial oversight and reporting for the program's allocated budget

  • Knowledge & Skills Required
    The successful candidate will have demonstrated capability and behaviours in the following areas.

    Proven experience:
    • Has a successful track record of undertaking a similar role for a comprehensive ICT programme of a similar scale.
    • Experience in applying 'better practice' approaches to all aspects of programme and project management which are practical and results focused.
    • Certification or several years' experience at a senior level, as an expert practitioner of recognised project and programme management tools and techniques. PRINCE2 and MSP preferred.

    I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
