Messaging Engineer

  • Our client is a reputable state-wide organisation with lots of projects in the pipeline. After some recent internals changes around the messaging team, there is now a requirement for an excellent messaging engineer to provide support for both upgrades and administration of the messaging environment.

    In this newly created role you will undertake systems installation, configuration, maintenance and administration by applying innovative techniques to resolve technological issues and contributing to productivity improvements within the organisation.

    Your primary duties will be:


  • Contribute to the delivery and implementation of improved technical support, ensuring all requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures and agreed service levels are met.

  • Provide advanced skills in the areas of operational responses to emerging needs, fault diagnosis and failure and proactively initiate remedial action as required.

  • Provide appropriate information on incident reviews and statistical reports within the environment for management, team leaders and staff.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardised processes, approaches, documented procedures and other related technical documentation.

  • Participate in project teams and on other assignments within the Enterprise Operations Team and contribute to reports on the progress of projects and assignments.

  • Liaise with network operations, system technicians, customers and staff in relation to deployments and new technology being implemented.

  • Maintain currency and knowledge through research and investigation of the latest technologies being offered in the IT and communications industry and utilising and applying the relevant technologies: Exchange, AD, PowerShell, Lync/Skype4B.



  • You will demonstrate proven experience in the following:


  • Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013, and 2016

  • Windows Powershell for Exchange administration

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • 2012 R2
  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft Lync 2013 / Skype for Business

  • Anti-spam solutions

  • DNS

  • 3rd Line Troubleshooting Methodology



  • The Role would further value experience with:


  • ITIL

  • Load balancing or complex network design

  • IT Security and best-practice

  • Project methodologies
