Senior Project Manager | Service Management I ITIL

Our client, a complex organisation in the financial services sector, is currently seeking an ICT Service Management Project Manager to lead a capability uplift initiative within their Asset Management team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering similar projects, a strong awareness of ITIL methodology, IT Service Management tools and possess the foresight to identify process improvement opportunities.


  • Responsible for all aspects of ICT Service Management to lead a capability uplift initiative which includes managing resources, budgets, risks and issues registers, reporting and scheduling
  • Provide hands-on IT service delivery and project management; and actively manage the project plan, deliverables, dependencies and outcomes as required
  • Prepare project plan, budget, schedule and related project documentation as required
  • Prepare communications plans and weekly/fortnightly status reports to key stakeholders
  • Define and manage overall change control processes and quality assurance for each client
  • Responsible for risk management and implementation of mitigation strategies
  • For projects, on a timely basis, identify and manage all project issues; and strategies and approaches to overcome these issues
  • Ensure successful outcomes by planning and managing your teams' activities, timeline and budget from solution implementation to BAU transition to client management
  • Manage customer expectations, project timelines, and project deliverables
  • Manage stakeholder communication and undertake a leadership role in service delivery

Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent understanding of service management process development, implementation and ongoing improvements across the ITIL processes
  • Ability to confidentially present to both technical and executive level business audiences
  • Proven skills in estimating, planning, tracking, resource management, change management, and risk/issue management
  • Good understanding of technology and IT infrastructure
  • Previous experience (5+ years min) in IT service delivery and ITIL processes
  • Previous experience (3+ years min) working on IT infrastructure projects
  • ITIL certification as well as project management certification (PRINCE2) is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience dealing with external vendors
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management experience
  • Great work ethic and a 'can do' attitude mandatory
  • ITSM tool-set knowledge, ServiceNow would be particularly of interest
  • Managing, measuring and reporting on key service-level metrics where required
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Self-motivated, passionate about Service Delivery/Management and energetic
  • Proven track record successfully implementing large complex ICT Infrastructure and Service Management projects
