Communicatons and Change Advisor

Our client, a well-known hospital on Brisbane's west side, is currently seeking a Principal Advisor, Change Communications who will be required to lead communications for the delivery of a digital solutions program of work. This role will manage complex communication challenges and provide tailored solutions.

The key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Stakeholder engagement and management for new digital solutions to be rolled out, including the integrated electronic medical record and virtual hospital projects.
  • Develop strategic and operational communication strategies.
  • Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of engaging digital programs which improve service and care to patients.
  • Develop staged communication programs which support the implementation of change management and training programs.
  • Monitor the progress of change communications and adjust communication based on feedback and emerging challenges.
  • Provide strategic communications advice.
  • Work with team members to deliver effective communication collateral.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients or visitors.
  • Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture where staff are vigilant to risks to themselves, their co-workers, clients or visitors (including health and safety, business and operational risks).

Mandatory Qualifications / Professional Registration:
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in a communication discipline, while not mandatory, is desirable.

Skills and experience required;
  • Previous experience as senior communications advisor or manager within a large and complex environment
  • Organisational change experience across digital projects in the health sector
  • Strong background in Communications and ability to help establish training for staff
  • Ability to work through complex business and client challenges and collaborate
  • Excellent organisational, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of working under pressure and changing priorities across the portfolio
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative communication strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage emerging issues
  • Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication, interpersonal and consultation skills
  • Demonstrated strong project planning and organisational skills, with the proven ability to balance competing priorities, function effectively in a team environment and meet tight timeframes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a communication service delivery environment.
