IGEL: "2016 will be the year of the management workspace"
In the new year, IGEL Technology will increase its focus on the managed workspace and has plans to expand its portfolio of solutions in this area. This will relieve the burden on IT managers at companies and government agencies, allowing them to concentrate on strategic and complex projects carried out as part of the digital transformation. IGEL has decades of experience when it comes to managing thin, zero and software thin clients. By combining this experience with global IT trends such as software-defined computing and unified management, the company is positioning itself firmly in the market for workspace management. In light of the fundamental shift in IT priorities towards the digital transformation of business processes, smart products and the Internet of Things (IoT)/Industry 4.0, trend analysis such as the "IDC FutureScapes 2016” predicts that PCs will be used for much longer periods, i.e. beyond six years. Technically speaking, this is possible – the hardware is now more robust and, thanks to Windows 10, even three-year-old machines can cope with extended requirements for a few extra years.

In order to permanently relieve the burden on IT staff, IGEL applies the "software-defined computing" principle to workstation IT. With the help of the secure, standardised and low-cost UDC2 Linux operating system, which is suitable for desktop PCs, notebooks and thin clients from other manufacturers, IGEL is permanently decoupling the intelligence for remote access to centralised IT environments and cloud services from the hardware. In combination with a profile-based management system – the IGEL UMS software comes supplied – standardised, remote-administrable working environments are created. These IGEL managed workspaces can be reactivated and ready for use on previously unconfigured replacement hardware within a few minutes of an acute end-device failure – whether it be a PC, a laptop or a thin client. IGEL recently took a further step towards unified device management with the UMA (Unified Management Agent) software. This even allows PCs and notebooks with local Windows 7 to be integrated into the homogeneous UMS environment.

This smart laptop was enjoyable to use and great to work on – creating content was super simple.
It really doesn’t get more “gaming laptop” than this.
As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
The MSI PS63 is an amazing laptop and I would definitely consider buying one in the future.
