Hisense Series 8 ULED 2017: Full, in-depth review
Hisense takes the fight to the home entertainment heavyweights
Pros
- Reasonably priced
- Built-in 4K Netflix
Cons
- Edge-lit with underwhelming blacks
- Disappointing video processing
Bottom Line
While Hisense punches above its weight in the budget television category, this new top-shelf television struggles to hold its own.

Price
$ 4,999.00 (AUD)
After making a splash as a challenger brand, Hisense is taking the fight to the home entertainment heavyweights with its flagship Series 8 and 9 ULED televisions.
For a long time Australia's high-end television market was dominated by a handful of premium brands which were head and shoulders above the rest in terms of picture quality. That changed with the arrival of budget television makers like Hisense, proving that shopping on a mid-range budget no longer means living with mediocre picture quality.

Last year's Hisense Series 7 ULED television met with rave reviews, with its $1999 55-inch model putting far more expensive rivals to shame. This year Hisense has its sights set on the top-shelf television category, with a price tag to match, but unfortunately it fails to live up to expectations.
