Bottom Line

There's much to like with the Agora 8 - not least its price. But it's let down badly by its cameras.

Battery life

The thin body does indeed mean that there’s a small battery inside – a 2,400mAh unit. Nonetheless, we found the phone regularly lasted the full day with some gaming, heavy browsing, photography and navigating.

We can forgive many sins with a $199 phone but the fact is there weren’t many to forgive… until we got to the camera. Still, if photos aren’t that important to you and you hanve’t much to spend on a phone, this does everything else and it does it reasonably well. If you want a bigger screen and better camera (and can live with slightly-less processing power) then check out the 6-inch Alcatel A3 XL. If you can stretch your budget more, it’s also worth checking out the Moto G5 and Oppo A57. However, both those budget phones look expensive in this company.
