Best upcoming tablets in 2012

The best tablets still to come in 2012, from Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 to the Acer Iconia Tab A700.

Apple's new iPad may still be the dominant force in the tablet market, but there is plenty of choice from other manufacturers.

We round up the best upcoming tablets in 2012, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and its "S-Pen" stylus, to the Acer Iconia Tab A700, which boasts a high resolution of 1920x1200.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The S Pen certainly adds a new dimension to the Galaxy Note 10.1 and we like the bundled apps that Samsung has included. Once you look past the S Pen, however, you're left with a tablet that doesn't offer anything particularly exceptional. Ultimately, the Galaxy Note 10.1 is an average Android tablet with a stylus. That just isn't good enough in such a competitive market.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

Wireless printing from my iPhone was also a handy feature, the whole experience was quick and seamless with no setup requirements - accessed through the default iOS printing menu options.

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
