Hearts of Iron III

Most Paradox fans - not to mention those looking for a solid World War II grand-strategy game - are sure to feel daunted by Hearts of Iron III.

DiRT 2

DiRT 2 's slick menus and stylish presentation will wow you when you first boot up the game but you won't see the full breadth of the imaginative personality and original ideas until you hit the track. DiRT 2 's fantastic rally racing is where the br...

Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Well, that's what the last few days of my life have been like. My name's Momohime, and before I had my body stolen by a blood-lusting spirit, I was just a little country girl living my life in beautiful feudal Japan. Since all this has happened, I re...

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days

Re-releases are a funny thing. Oftentimes when a game sees a second packaging, it's in name only. Game of the Year editions are notorious for this, regularly slapping an Editor's Choice insignia on the box and toting it at a higher price.

Fate/Unlimited Codes

But what makes a fighter truly memorable are its characters. If I throw out the names Sub-Zero, Chun-Li and Jigglypuff you know what franchises I'm referring to because they're hard to forget. That's what makes Fate/Unlimited Codes such as worthwhile...

The Beatles: Rock Band

It all comes down to this. For all of the defining moments in my life, few can measure up to the overwhelming sense of triumph and pride that washes over me as I grip my aged Hofner bass in hand and strum the opening notes to "Get Back" to the deligh...

Sony PlayStation 3 Slim (120GB)

Sony's remodeled PlayStation 3 (120GB) dropped a couple of dress sizes and $200 off the price of its predecessor, the [[artnid:183285|original PlayStation 3|Review: Sony PlayStation 3]]. For $499, you can now have a first-class, BD-Live capable Blu-r...

Guitar Hero 5

The Guitar Hero franchise has been a forerunner in the virtual music genre since 2005, but there's no denying that the series has lost some of its luster over the years.

Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming

When you think of farming, probably the last adjective that comes to mind is frantic; but when you combine farming with Harvesting-Elves (aka Sprites), crops made of solid gold, and cowboys who pull up vegetables with lassos, the term "frantic" almos...

Neverball

Those in my age range of (mumble) may remember an old puzzle game featuring a real metal ball and a real wooden board with holes in it.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

The Metroid Prime series has an outstanding reputation, thanks to terrific installments on both the Gamecube and Wii. Taking a series known for its 2-D roots and transporting it into the 3D FPS space was risky but Samus made the transition intact, of...

Batman: Arkham Asylum

While other superheroes merely catch the crooks and then parade around with smug smirks, Batman goes out of his way to get inside the criminal mind and twist it into submission; that alone makes him one of my favourite comic book characters. Similarl...

Wolfenstein

I wonder what started first: Quentin Tarantino's pre-production on Inglourious Basterds or the development of Wolfenstein. From what I've seen of the trailers, Inglourious Basterds looks like a seriously unserious take on the fight against the Nazi e...

Shadow Complex

Listen. I don't have much time. They've keyed into my position and they're closing fast. I'll have to make this quick. Infiltration of target [CONTENT CLASSIFIED] complete. Acquisition of project 'Shadow Complex' complete. I repeat: acquisition of pr...

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
