Ah, to be sure, to be sure! St Patrick's Day (March 17) is almost upon us again – a day to don something green, down a pint of Guinness and wish you were Irish!

  • Canberra
    Australia's capital city will be brimming with green this weekend. Besides the well-known Irish club, Canberra has plenty of Irish pubs that will be open late to help toast St Patrick!
  • The Guinness Planner
    Everyone's favourite beer on St Patrick's Day – Guiness – has brought us a lovely planner, to ensure your weekend involves plenty of drinking celebrations! There is a list of official Guinness venues for every state in Australia and you can even build a list of venues you would like to visit, and plan your route for getting to them. So to ensure you have a pint on St Patrick's Day, check it out!
  • Melbourne
    In the sprit of the Irish, Melbourne's Docklands will be host to the Grand Irish Charity Ball on Friday 14 March. Guests will include hilarious comedian Jimeoin and a host of Irish dancers. There will also be plenty of prizes to be won, headed by a trip for two people to visit Ireland, home of St Patrick!

  • Tasmania
    Westbury, the "Irish heart of Tasmania" are holding their traditional St. Patrick's Festival, running through the entire weekend. (Fri 14, Sat 15 & Sun 16 March 2008). Celebrations will include traditional Irish music, dance and song, a feast of food and drink and a Celtic art award, showcasing the best of traditional Irish art.

    Sydney's St Patrick's Day celebrations include a parade through the CBD beginning at 12 noon on Sunday 16 March, as well as a Family day at Hyde Park. The Family Day includes fun for everyone, with entertainment including traditional Irish dancing, a special guest appearance by Australian Idol's Damien Leith and a jumping castle and face painting for the kids.

    Often accused of being boring, the city of churches will be lively as ever this weekend as their large contingent of Irish pubs help celebrate St Patrick's Day! So to down a pint of Guinness this weekend, check out Adelaide's best Irish pubs.
  • Sunshine Coast
    The J entertainment centre in Noosa Junction is the place to be this weekend, as they host St Patrick's day celebrations. Entertainment kicks off on Saturday 15 March at 7pm and includes acts from The Barleyshakes and Celtic Blue Irish dancers. The night will be officially opened by Australian female singing star Sue-anne Stewart.

    Brisbane's annual St Patrick's Day Parade showcases a number of different aspects of Irish culture. It includes Irish bands, dancers, a sausage sizzle and plenty of fun for the kids. There is also a Saint Patrick's Irish Festival at Queensland Gaelic Football Park, Willawong. It includes an international tug-o-war competition, Irish dancing and even exhibition games of Gaelic football!
