Like previous games in the series, Resident Evil 5 will do its best to mess your trousers via an assortment of creepy cut-scenes and nail-biting set pieces. (Turn around Chris! They’re behind you!)
Resident Evil 5 sees the return of Chris Redfield, the GAP model-cum-S.T.A.R operative who starred in the first game.

We’re not sure who this guy is, but he looks like a stereotypical African warlord. Or possibly a storefront hawker. Either way, he must be stopped.

Controversially, the fifth instalment of Resident Evil takes place in Haiti, and will feature voodoo-afflicted Africans in place of typical zombies.

The combat will adopt the popular ‘over-the-shoulder’ technique as seen in Resident Evil 4. The close-quarters combat system has also been improved, with a new dodging ability, and a special punching move to scatter hostile crowds.

One of the staple ingredients of the series has always been the ‘jump scare’, where enemies leap terrifyingly out of the shadows and attempt to bite your head off. Expect Resident Evil 5 to be no different.

Just when you thought it was safe to switch on your console, the next chapter in Survival Horror is almost upon us.
