More games to look out for during the Christmas rush.

  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

    November 26
Look, we never said the games had to be new right? Seriously, who can resist the remake of a classic arcade game like Super Street Fighter II Turbo, with 1080p graphics? Heading to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store in the coming week, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Totally Awesome Long Names is sure to incite nostalgia, competitiveness and bloodlust in high definition.
  • Grand Theft Auto IV (PC)

    December 2

Console gamers have had GTA love since April, but PC gamers are soon able to join in on the fun as well. On top of the gritty realism that made GTA IV a favourite among many, PC gamers will get extra features to compensate for the delay, including graphical tweaks. There’s also a replay editor, allowing players to record clips and share them with other gamers — perfect for recording your favourite crime.
  • Prince of Persia

    December 2
Perhaps the pick of the bunch, the new Prince of Persia title for Ubisoft is looking a treat. With a revamped storyline, gameplay and combat, players can once again enact their fantasies as a Middle-Eastern royal, accompanied by an acrobatic sidekick. The story is non-linear, so you might actually get a chance to explore the sands of Persia rather than view them from afar. Sorry PC users, once again you’re getting the short end of the stick, with a week delay.
  • The Last Remnant

    November 20
Even if you have spent your time trying to steer clear of Japanese RPGs, you may still be interested in this one. Developed by Square Enix on the Unreal 3 Engine, The Last Remnant promises to appeal to both Japanese and Western audiences while reinventing the RPG battle format. Of course, pleasing both audiences is an exceptionally hard task if the game’s title doesn’t start with “Final Fantasy” but it is Square Enix after all so there’s plenty of promise.
  • The holidays are almost upon us. For the video gaming industry, that means a slew of games to fill your full schedule. With Fallout 3, Call of Duty: World at War and Far Cry 2 having hit the shelves in weeks past among other notables, chances are your hands are already full. Just in case you haven’t had enough, here are some to look forward to before the end of the year.

  • Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

    November 20
Though the bloodfest between superheroes and Kombat champions has already begun in the US, Aussies finally got their chance to get in on the action yesterday. The concept is simple — put one caped crusader and one costumed ninja into a ring, and enjoy. There’s plenty that can go wrong with a concept like this, but it seems they have managed to pull it off. Check out our review here.
  • Sonic Unleashed

    November 24
The infamous blue hedgehog is back in yet another iteration of the oft-flawed franchise, this time with equality in mind. For the first time in this console generation, the hedgehog will be making it to all three major consoles, and even the PlayStation 2. Melding 2-D and 3-D visuals with the lightning-fast gameplay that made Sonic famous, the game hasn’t been making waves among reviewers, but there’s still fun to be had. PlayStation 3 owners have to wait that little bit longer; they can grab it on December 12.
