Hundreds of die-hard Halo fans line up at 12am for Halo Reach launch
Hundreds of die-hard Halo fans lined up in Sydney last night for the official midnight launch of [[artnid:312431|Halo Reach]]. The event was held at [[xref:http://www.ebgames.com.au/|EB Games']] Westpoint Blacktown branch, which had received the highest number of Halo Reach pre-orders in the country. Attendees were treated to free pizzas, music, showbags and photos with Master Chief himself. Check out the rest of the slideshow for all the pictures from the event.
The crowd was surprisingly large for a midnight game launch, with hundreds of individuals lining up to bag a copy of the game.
Customers were given photographic momentos that placed them inside the Halo Reach universe.
In addition to Halo Reach, EB Games also showcased Microsoft's new Kinect add-on for the Xbox 360.
Free pizza was provided for the happy punters, courtesy of EB Games.
The music was properly pumping at the event, with an MC-cum-DJ building up the crowd's enthusiasm/hearing problems.

Doors opened at 10pm sharp. EB Games staff collected pre-order receipts from customers. Only two more hours to go!

The attendees included hardcore gamers, kids and put-upon mums and dads.
The crowd remained calm and orderly throughout proceedings, with no Halo-fuelled riots. Bummer.

Charitable gamers could also pick up a Halo Reach wireless headset (pictured) at the event. $5 per unit sold will go directly to the [[xref:http://www.makeawish.org.au/netcommunity/page.aspx?pid=240|Make-A-Wish Foundation]].
