HP hasn't forgotten about business users with this new Folio Ultrabook
HP's new EliteBook Folio 9470m is a 14in Ultrabook designed for business users. It includes docking capabilities, integrated mobile broadband and it ships with what HP claims is a "full set of EliteBook business software and anti-virus protection". For performance, the new Folio will ship with a third generation Intel Core CPU and up to 16GB of DDR3 SDRAM (1600MHz). Storage options range from 320GB, 7200rpm hard drives, to 256GB, micro SATA solid state drives. Both types of storage options offer self encryption.
With a 14in screen and a reported weight of 1.6kg, the Folio 9470m aims to be comfortable to use, yet highly mobile.
It features options for integrated 3G, as well as Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 dual-band wireless networking.
There is a backlit keyboard installed, which is also spill-resistant (it uses draining points that go to the bottom of the case). The LED-backlit LCD screen has a 1366x768 resolution and an anti-glare coating.
HP claims that the EliteBook Folio 9470m is about 19mm thick, which is similar to the original [[artnid:410213|Folio 13]] Ultrabook. This is the right side of the Ultrabook, which shows off two USB 3.0 ports, a DisplayPort, an SD card slot, a VGA port and a connector for a docking station.
The left side of the unit has the power port, the air vent, an in-the-way cable lock facility, another USB 3.0 port, a combination headphone and microphone jack, and a smartcard slot.
Unlike other Ultrabooks, the new Folio will also have an option for a secondary battery.
It's expected to be available in October.
